Islamabad, May 7, 2025: In a powerful push to regulate the booming yet chaotic real estate market, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sealed four illegal housing schemes, intensifying efforts to protect homebuyers from real estate fraud.
The crackdown on unapproved developments follows direct instructions from the Divisional Intelligence Committee, marking a crucial step toward responsible urban planning in Rawalpindi.
The unauthorized housing schemes—Nishan-i-Mustufa / Ample Living, Countryside Farmhouses, Agro Park, and Green Lake City—were operating without RDA approval across several key areas including Mouzas Bagga Sheikhan, Chak Beli Khan, Ratial, Ralla Gujran, and along Kuri Khuda Bakhsh Road.
RDA enforcement teams, under the supervision of Director General Kinza Murtaza, launched a coordinated operation that involved sealing site offices and demolishing illegal infrastructure such as boundary walls, roads, and footpaths.

“This action reaffirms our commitment to safeguarding the public and cracking down on unlawful developments,” said Murtaza, emphasizing the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on real estate violations.
Despite previous warnings, developers of these schemes continued illegal marketing and bookings, blatantly disregarding urban planning laws.
The RDA’s crackdown on illegal housing schemes highlights the growing risk for buyers enticed by attractive offers from unapproved projects.
Industry experts warn that investing in unauthorized housing schemes can lead to significant financial losses and legal complications.
As a comparison, cities like Lahore and Karachi have implemented digital land records and online verification tools—steps that Rawalpindi is now aggressively pushing with its official website (www.rda.gop.pk) for project verification.
