Islamabad, Aug 4, 2025: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has officially unveiled the CSS 2026 Exam Schedule, setting the stage for thousands of aspirants preparing for one of Pakistan’s most competitive exams.
The CSS exam, which recruits candidates for the prestigious civil services, will be held in two major stages starting later this year.
Phase 1: MPT Screening Test for CSS 2026
FPSC will begin the process with the MCQ-Based Preliminary Test (MPT). According to the schedule, the commission will publish the official public notice on August 10, 2025. Candidates can submit their online applications from August 11 to August 25, 2025. The MPT will be conducted across the country on November 9, 2025.
Only those candidates who clear the MPT will be shortlisted for the second phase of the exam.
Phase 2: Written Examination for CSS 2026
The second and most crucial part—the written exam—will commence after the MPT results are announced. A separate public notice regarding this stage will be issued on December 14, 2025, and the application window will open from December 15 to December 30, 2025.
The CSS 2026 written examination will officially begin on February 4, 2026, covering various compulsory and optional subjects over multiple days.
