Islamabad, Sep 12: The PML-N-led Punjab government is getting ready to introduce a welfare program that will give free transportation to specific social categories.
Free Travel for Seniors, Students, disabled in Punjab will all benefit from these services, which will make it free for them to ride the Orange Line, Metro, and Speedo buses. Reducing the financial burden on these vulnerable groups and improving accessibility to public transit are the main objectives.
There will be free transportation offered in three major cities: Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore. Large transportation networks exist in many cities.
The Punjab Cabinet Committee’s ultimate approval of this project is still pending. The Mass Transit Authority and the transportation department have already submitted a thorough summary of the project.
The program will formally start as soon as the clearance process is completed, and Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb is in charge of it.
