Islamabad, June 26, 2025: The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced it is sending over $126 million in refunds. These payments are going to Fortnite players who were charged for unwanted purchases while playing the game.
In a statement, the agency said it is set to send 969,173 checks and PayPal payments. These are being issued on June 25 and 26. Payments are for consumers who already filed a valid claim by February 14. This Fortnite refund follows a settlement. The FTC reached this with Epic Games, the developer of the game, in 2023.
According to the FTC, Epic Games agreed to pay $245 million to settle. This was for the agency’s allegations. Epic used deceptive practices to trick players.

This led to unwanted purchases. At the time of the settlement, Epic Games stated, “We accepted this agreement. because we want Epic to be at the forefront of consumer protection. and provide the best experience for our players.”
Apart from the ongoing Fortnite refund, the US agency has also announced. It is reopening the process for new claims. Fortnite gamers and their parents or guardians can now submit a compensation claim. The FTC has announced that eligible players have until July 9.
This is the deadline to submit a claim for a Fortnite refund. Players will need to visit the FTC website. They should search for “Fortnite Refunds” and apply for a claim there.
The FTC issued the first round of refunds in December 2024. This included 629,344 payments. totaling more than $72 million. With the latest issuance of checks and PayPal payments. worth $126 million, the total amount. Fortnite refunds will reach nearly $200 million.
