Islamabad, June 29, 2025: Huawei has shaken up the electric vehicle world with a new patent for a solid-state EV battery that promises an astonishing 2,000-mile range on just a five-minute charge.

The patent, based on sulfide-based solid-state chemistry, could more than double the energy density of today’s lithium-ion batteries. If brought to market, this cutting-edge tech would redefine electric mobility—eliminating long charge times and range anxiety for good.

Though still in its early stages, the move signals Huawei’s serious push into next-generation EV battery technology. Analysts believe this breakthrough could give China a major edge as global competition heats up in the EV race.

Currently, China leads the world in solid-state battery patents, with over 7,600 filed. Giants like BYD and Xiaomi are also aggressively investing in this space, reinforcing Beijing’s strategic vision for dominating EV battery innovation.

Huawei’s new battery patent marks a pivotal step forward. If commercialized successfully, it could usher in a future where electric vehicles charge in minutes and travel further than ever imagined—changing the EV game forever.
