Applications seeking a revision in gas prices across the country have been submitted to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), with Sui gas companies requesting an increase of up to 28.62% in tariffs.
According to official filings, OGRA will conduct separate public hearings on the requests. The petition submitted by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) will be heard on November 7, while the hearing on Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC)’s application is scheduled for November 11.
SSGC has sought an overall 22 percent increase in gas tariffs for consumers in Sindh and Balochistan, which includes recovery of previous year’s outstanding dues. On the other hand, SNGPL has proposed a 28.62 percent increase in gas tariffs for consumers in Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
