Islamabad, May 12, 2025: In a landmark initiative to widen access to quality education, Government College University (GCU) Lahore has rolled out 1,200 new intermediate seats on open merit, offering a major boost to students aiming for excellence in Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, and other key streams.

Double Shift Admissions Across Two Campuses

The newly launched intermediate admissions will be conducted in two shifts: a second shift (2 PM to 6 PM) at the Main Campus, and a *morning shift at the Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) Campus.

The Main Campus will offer second-shift seats in Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Computer Science, General Science, Commerce, and Humanities, while the KSK Campus will host morning classes for Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, and Computer Science.

GCU’s Vision: Inclusive and Quality Education

Professor Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, Vice Chancellor of GCU, reiterated the institution’s mission: “Even after becoming a university, GCU has not stepped away from its roots in intermediate education. We’ve maintained a dedicated directorate to manage and enhance it.”

This expansion is part of GCU’s broader strategy to attract brilliant minds from all provinces, especially from underserved areas like Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, KP, and Sindh.

The KSK Campus, now open to intermediate students, is equipped with purpose-built classrooms, hostels, and a shuttle service, providing a holistic academic environment.

A Strategic Move in a Competitive Education Landscape

By increasing intermediate seats to 1,200, GCU Lahore not only supports national educational goals but also strengthens its competitive edge over private colleges, many of which lack comparable infrastructure or legacy.

For students seeking affordable, high-quality education in a top-ranked public institution, this is a golden opportunity.
