Islamabad, July 8, 2025: The German Consulate in Karachi has been temporarily closed. As per the official notification, the consulate will stay closed from 8 to 11 July due to administrative reasons.
Passport handover services will continue, while visa meetings during this period will be rescheduled, the notification mentioned.
This notice has caused concern among many Pakistanis—including scholars, corporate visitors, and holidaymakers—regarding their upcoming journeys.

Meanwhile in a positive development, Sweden has restarted its visa processing operations in Pakistan. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, visa processing has been back in operations instantly.
