Islamabad, Mar 11 2025: The German junior hockey team secured a 2-1 victory over host Pakistan in the second match of the Friendship Cup 2025, played in Lahore.
With this commanding win, the visitors now lead the four-match series 2-0.
Germany had secured a 4-3 victory over the hosts in the opening match of the series at the Manzoor-ul-Hassan Senior Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
Despite facing a formidable seven-time Junior World Champion side, the Pakistan junior hockey team delivered a strong performance, keeping the match competitive.
However, the Green Shirts fell short of clinching a win, missing some golden opportunities in the middle.
Pakistan is set to face Germany again in the third match of the series, scheduled for March 11 in Lahore.
The final encounter will take place in Islamabad on March 13, offering Pakistan another chance to make a comeback.
Germany’s dominance in the series so far puts them in a strong position, while Pakistan will be eager to turn the tide in the upcoming fixtures.
