Islamabad, June 7, 2025: In an exciting Gibraltar vs Croatia match, Croatia handed Gibraltar a heavy 7–0 defeat in their Group L World Cup Qualifier, showcasing complete control and a diverse scoring sheet. Six Croatian players made it onto the scoreboard.
Mario Pašalić began the rout in the 28th minute, and Ante Budimir followed swiftly with another goal just two minutes later. Franjo Ivanović netted twice in a quick spell (60’, 63’), while Ivan Perišić (73’) and Andrej Kramarić (77’, 79’) added further polish to the emphatic victory.
The Croatian side unleashed 30 shots in total, with 13 on target. They dominated ball control with 69 percent possession and strung together 488 passes with 88 percent success. Croatia also won 12 corners. In contrast, Gibraltar struggled to make an impact—managing only three attempts without hitting the target and earning just a single corner. Croatia’s backline stood firm, limiting Gibraltar to 236 passes and holding them to 31 percent possession.
On the disciplinary front, Gibraltar committed nine fouls, while Croatia were whistled for 10. The team from Gibraltar was flagged offside twice and didn’t receive any cards. Croatia, however, were caught offside six times and picked up one yellow.

Following the result of Gibraltar vs Croatia, Croatia now sits in third place in Group L, having earned three points from a single game with a +7 goal difference. They trail behind Czechia, who top the group with nine points from three outings (also +7 goal difference), and Montenegro in second place with six points from as many matches.

Gibraltar remains rooted to the bottom, with no points after three games. They’ve only managed to score once while letting in 14 goals, leaving them with a –13 goal difference. Just above them are the Faroe Islands, who have suffered two defeats and hold a –2 goal difference.
Croatia’s upcoming matches are crucial in their push to overtake Montenegro and Czechia, both of whom have played more fixtures. This dominant display not only boosts Croatia’s campaign but also sets the tone for their remaining group games.
