Islamabad, Oct 16: Gitex Global 2024 Pakistani startups showcase Innovation
Gitex Global 2024, the biggest international technology and startup event, kicked off today in Dubai. PTA-sponsored this major event focuses on Pakistan’s information and communication technology (ICT) and startup sectors. In tandem with Gitex Global is the North Star Startup Show with ten startups and incubators from Pakistan.
These startups are getting good reactions from Middle East, Saudi Arabia as well as from other parts of the world.
In total, eighty tech companies and startups from Pakistan are to take part in this tech event.
They are confident that an aggressive showcasing at Gitex Global will help increase IT exports from Pakistan to the Middle East and the MENA region, bring investment for start-ups and establish strategic relations with big IT players in the region.
With the focus of the federal Ministry of IT and Telecommunications, ten Pakistani startups are taking part the Ignite programme at Gitex 2024. These startups are in areas like healthcare, aerospace, energy, new-gen games, travel & technology, smart city technologies and others.
They will showcase their creativity in problem solving to global investors, potential partners and others with keen interest in new technologies.
Pakistan’s Recognition at GITEX Global 2024
Earlier this month, During GITEX held from October 14th to 18th of 2024, Pakistan received the GITEX ‘Tech Destination of the Year’ award. Before, the country had competed under the Pakistan Pavilion with the assistance of Pakistan Software Export Board.
This acknowledgement went on and was a clear pointer to the elevation of the status of Pakistan on the global technology map. Dubai will host GITEX Global, acknowledged as one of the biggest and globally leading technology exhibitions, at the Dubai World Trade Centre and the Dubai Harbour.
It encompassed more than forty exhibition halls that demonstrated paradigm shifts within artificial intelligence and cyber space technologies, mobility, and green energy technology.
The launch saw many technology players and enablers including major players, new and innovative technological firms, investors and leaders from the technological field unveil their new products, look at the future of the promoting technological advances in the different economy segments and connect with each other.
Its participation from around the globe also pointed out that the technology industry is diverse and constantly changing and thus requires intercontinental bondages.
By the IT and IT enabled service companies, Pakistan exported to 170 countries exhibiting a decent value proposition that proposes services run up to 70% lower Operating costs than North America. The title ‘Tech Destination of the Year further helped in positing Pakistan as one of the growing technological hubs of the world.
