Islamabad, July 10, 2025: UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on July 3, 2025, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese called on countries to sever all trade and financial ties with Israel, impose a full arms embargo, and withdraw support from what she termed an “economy of genocide.” Her report accuses Israel of systematic atrocities in Gaza and criticizes corporations for enabling its ongoing military campaign.
The details as presented by Albanese who used 440 sources to support their findings shows that 48 firms, both arms makers and high tech firms such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Palantir, have been involved in aiding Israeli war efforts. These companies supposedly clean up and permit spying in Gaza, weapon deployment as well as infrastructural demolition. Such companies as the heavy machinery manufacturing firms Caterpillar and Hyundai, and travel platforms Airbnb and Booking.com were also listed as the facilitators of illegal settlements.

“The situation in the occupied Palestinian territory is apocalyptic,” she said. “Israel is responsible for one of the cruellest genocides in modern history.” She insisted that there should be universal responsibility where the states and businesses boycott the connection with the Israeli military–industrial complex and colonial economy.
She affirmed, “far too many corporate entities have profited from Israel’s economy of illegal occupation, apartheid and now, genocide” .It called on the international community to “hold the private sector accountable” for companies’ complicity in Israel’s abuses.

The UN said that close to 57,000 Palestinians were killed since the war broke out 22 months ago. The report observes that war in Israel has jacked the Israeli stock exchange by 200 percent as Gaza lies in shambles. Albanese made the comment, One people enriched, one people erased.
Israel rejected the report when it was accepted by the applause in Geneva terming it as legally baseless. Even though the International Court of Justice is investigating the country over genocide, the country insists that its actions are self-defensive after the October 7 Hamas attack.
