Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the efforts of the International Trade Union Confederation for the rights of the workforce at the global level.
Prime Minister Muhammad held a meeting with Luc Triangle, Secretary General of the International Trade Union Confederation.
Prime Minister said that Pakistan is working with the International Labor Organization for the rights of laborers and workers in Pakistan.
He added that the government is expanding the scope of the Employees Old Age Benefit and the Worker Welfare Fund so that more employees, workers and workforce can benefit from their benefits.
At the federal level, the National Vocational Technical Training Commission and at the provincial level, stated the PM.
Vocational Training Institutes are organizing several training programs to make the youth skilled, so that they can get skills according to the needs of the market.
Pakistan is among the countries most affected by climate change. Pakistan had to bear losses of $ 30 billion due to the 2022 floods.
Due to these climate changes, workers and workers in Pakistan faced many employment problems and had to bear losses, said the Prime Minister.
Pakistan and other countries like it would need special financial assistance from international financial institutions to solve the problems caused by climate change.
The government is ensuring that efforts to adapt to climate change and mitigate its adverse effects in communities vulnerable to climate change protect the livelihoods of the economically vulnerable.
Louise Triangle, Secretary General of the International Trade Union Confederation, praised the democratic values in Pakistan and the steps being taken for the betterment of workers and workers in the country.
