Islamabad, Sep 28: Gmail is Getting AI-Powered Smart Replies
At its I/O developer conference in May, Google revealed several AI-driven features for its apps, and one of these is now becoming available to the public.
Gmail is Getting AI-Powered on both Android and iOS will soon have access to Gemini-powered contextual smart replies, aimed at simplifying and speeding up email responses.
Previously, Gmail introduced basic smart replies in 2017, but these were limited in their ability to understand the context of conversations.
This new enhancement offers more advanced, context-specific responses. When replying to an email, users will see three smart reply suggestions, displayed in a carousel, that are tailored to the full email thread.
These suggestions will vary in tone, catering to different communication styles, and users can preview the options by long-pressing on them.
After selecting a suggested reply, the feature will automatically add a greeting and closing to the message. Users can still make edits to the content before sending, ensuring the response matches their intent.
This new feature, Contextual Smart Replies, will be available to subscribers of Gemini Business, Education, Education Premium, Enterprise, and Google One AI Premium.
