The gold price shot up by Rs 900 on Tuesday to Rs 360,700 per tola 24 karat, compared to 359,800 on Monday, the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
Likewise, 10 grams of 24-karat rose by Rs 772 to touch Rs 309,242 upwards of the previous Rs 308,470 but 10 grams of the 22-karat rose by Rs 708 to Rs 283,482 against the earlier 282,774.
On the contrary, silver prices were stable in the domestic and international markets. Domestically, tola silver was stuck at Rs4,121 and 10 grams Rs3,533. Silver did not change on the international front having been valued at $38.88 per ounce.
Globally, gold prices went on an upward trend with international gold price rising by $9 to end at 3,380 after closing at 3,371 the previous day.

The upward trend in bullion is due to an increase in investor demand because of fluctuations in the currency and the uncertainties in the market. As the trend appeared to be gaining traction both in the local and the international markets the traders and investors keep an eye on it.
