Islamabad, Sep 25: The price of gold in Pakistan broke all previous records and surpassed Rs. 275,000 on Wednesday. The price of 24 carats of gold climbed by Rs. 2,500 per tola to Rs. 275,500, while the price of 10 grams jumped by Rs. 2,144 to Rs. 236,197, according to figures released by the Karachi Sarafa Association.
The price of gold increased by Rs. 1,100 per tola on Tuesday to reach an all-time high of Rs. 273,000 per tola, following a decline of Rs. 600 per tola on Monday. While US gold futures were up 0.2 percent to $2,682.10, spot gold on the international market remained stable at $2,658.08 per ounce as of 0557 GMT, having achieved an all-time high of $2,670.43 earlier.
Since the beginning of the year, the price of gold has increased by almost Rs. 55,000 per tola, mostly as a result of rising international prices.
