Islamabad, Sep 6: The price of gold increased by Rs. 1,400 per tola in Pakistan on Friday, bringing the two-day gains to Rs. 3,400 tola and bringing the price closer to the all-time high.The price of 24 carat gold increased by Rs. 1,400 per tola to Rs. 263,500, while the price of 10 kilos increased by Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 225,908, according data released by the Karachi Sarafa Association.
After falling for the previous two days, the price of gold increased by Rs. 2,000 per tola yesterday. Gold prices were almost at a one-week high on the global market as investors concentrated on US jobs data that would provide an indication of the extent of the Federal Reserve’s anticipated rate decrease this month. By 0742 GMT, spot gold had increased by 0.1 percent to $2,518.49 per ounce, while US gold futures had increased by 0.2 percent to $2,548.50.
