ISLAMABAD, May 29, 2025: Islamabad is pondering revision of rates for industrial plots and significantly reducing charges applicable to plot conversion, amalgamation, and subdivision.

The deliberations in this regard came during 10th meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board. The meeting was held at the CDA Headquarters in Islamabad, chaired by Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defence Muhammad Ali Randhwa.

The Board also decided that residential charges will be collected on farm houses instead of industrial charges. Moreover, the board decided to further enhance the performance and efficiency of the MPO Directorate. The Board granted approval for the provision of modern and latest machinery to the MPO Directorate to ensure the availability of road infrastructure, construction materials, and modern machinery for the development and construction of Islamabad city.

Chairman CDA directed the MPO Directorate to not only legally participate in various government and private bidding process of road construction projects but also to cover its own expenses through revenue generation itself. So that MPO can utilize the revenue on acquiring new, advanced, and modern machinery. This will help transform CDA into a profitable organization.

The meeting decided to acquire the services of a consultant for the construction of residential facilities for female officers in Sector H-8.

Approval was also granted for an extension in the construction period for the Islamabad Metro Bus project from “Peshawar Mor to NIIA” (New Islamabad International Airport). It was further decided that PC-I for the Metro project from “Peshawar Mor to NIIA” will be presented to the CDA Development Working Party (CDADWP).

The meeting also conducted a detailed review of the revised budget estimates for the financial year 2024-25. The Board approved the revised budget estimates for the financial year 2024-25.

Chairman CDA directed to appoint the Director General (DG) Recovery to further improve recovery of revenue and outstanding dues. Chairman CDA directed that the DG Recovery to submit daily reports on CDA’s revenue and dues recovery, overseeing the already established Recovery Unit within CDA. Chairman CDA also directed the formulation of a comprehensive strategy to identify permanent sources of income and resources to meet CDA’s recurring expenses.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that CDA is utilizing all available resources for the development, progress, and beautification of Islamabad, aiming to make it a model city for the country. He added that work is progressing rapidly on various projects and initiatives to meet the residential, transportation, and recreational needs of the public.
