Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed an increase in cash assistance for women under the Mamta Program, raising the amount from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 41,000.
The decision came during a meeting of the Sindh Social Protection Authority, chaired by the CM, where officials briefed him on the province’s ongoing social protection initiatives.
Addressing the meeting, Shah said that the Sindh government, with support from the World Bank, had launched the Social Protection Delivery System in 2023, which will continue until 2027.
He noted that the flagship Mamta Program is currently active in 15 districts, benefiting over 770,000 women so far. To improve access to healthcare, more than 800 hospitals and dispensaries across Sindh have been linked to the program.
Officials informed the meeting that registered women currently receive Rs. 30,000 in financial aid over three years. The CM ordered that this amount be raised to Rs. 41,000 to provide greater relief.
