Islamabad, Mar 16 2025: Google is introducing a significant update to its Real-Time People Tracking in Find My Device app, allowing users to track the live locations of friends and family who have opted to share their location. This enhancement, initially part of the Android March feature drop, is gradually rolling out to a wider audience.
Merging Device and People Tracking
Previously, Google Maps provided location-sharing features among friends and family. Now, the Find My Device app integrates both device tracking and people tracking within a single interface, streamlining the user experience.
Additionally, it extends support to Google Maps users on iOS, ensuring cross-platform compatibility.

With this update, Android users will notice a new “People” tab in the Find My Device app. This tab displays the locations of contacts who have shared their whereabouts.
Another section allows users to manage their own location-sharing settings, including the duration for which they wish to share their real-time location.

Google’s revamped Find My Device interface takes inspiration from Apple’s Find My app, offering a user-friendly design Real-Time People Tracking.
The update introduces a split-screen layout, featuring a map at the top and a list of tracked devices or contacts at the bottom depending on the selected tab. This intuitive approach makes it easier to switch between monitoring misplaced devices and checking in on loved ones.
