Islamabad, Mar 4, 2025: At MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Google introduced two cutting-edge AI features for Android devices, set to roll out later this month. These tools aim to enhance real-time interaction and visual analysis, offering a more seamless Gemini AI experience.
One of the standout innovations, Live Video, was initially previewed at Google I/O 2024. This feature leverages Gemini’s multimodal capabilities, allowing users to stream live visual data from their phone’s camera directly to the chatbot for instant insights.
During the demonstration, Google showcased how Gemini could identify mid-century modern decor and provide personalized recommendations on incorporating the style into home accessories like pottery.
Another addition is screen sharing, enabling users to share their phone’s display with Gemini for contextual assistance. Whether navigating a web browser or using an app, this function provides instant feedback.
While similar to ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode, which has offered live video and screen-sharing options since last year, Google’s integration eliminates the need for a separate app, making the process more seamless and intuitive.
These new AI-driven features will be exclusively available to Gemini Advanced subscribers as part of Google’s AI Premium plan, priced at $20 per month through Google One. Additionally, Verizon has incorporated this AI Premium subscription as a perk for select customer plans.
In another AI breakthrough, Google recently open-sourced SpeciesNet, an advanced model capable of identifying wildlife species from camera trap images. The AI can classify animals by species and taxonomic categories, such as “mammalian” or “Felidae”, and even recognize non-animal objects like vehicles.
With these advancements, Google continues to push the boundaries of AI integration, offering users more intelligent, real-time visual assistance while expanding the potential of AI-powered wildlife monitoring.
