Google has started rolling out Gemini for Home in the United States through an early access program. This update means that Google Assistant on smart home devices will slowly be replaced with a more advanced AI assistant called Gemini. It is designed to understand natural speech in a better way and handle more detailed requests inside the home. Users with Google Nest speakers and smart displays will start seeing the new features once they join the early access option in the Google Home app. This rollout is limited for now so it may not reach all users at the same time.
Gemini for Home is smarter and more flexible than the older Google Assistant. It can follow long instructions in one go. For example you can say turn on the living room light and play soft music and lower the fan speed. Gemini tries to understand these connected actions without needing separate commands. The new assistant also aims to make home automation feel more natural. Instead of learning exact voice commands users can speak normally and Gemini will try to interpret what they mean.

Some advanced features of Gemini for Home may be offered under paid plans. This includes deeper smart home automation and some camera related features. Google is testing these features to see how users respond. For now the rollout is only in the United States. Google plans to expand Gemini for Home to more countries once it becomes stable and well tested. Users in other regions will likely receive it later through software updates to existing Nest devices.
