The Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) information for the federal budget for 2024–2025 have been made public. For the year 2024–2025, the Ministry of IT and Telecom has proposed spending Rs. 23.53 billion for 16 current projects under the PSDP.
For the purpose of executing the e-office project in federal ministries and departments, the federal government intends to set aside Rs. 300 million. Furthermore, proposals have been made for the IT professional certification project to receive Rs. 100 million and the Crime Analysis and Smart Policing project under PITB to receive Rs. 80 million.
The Cyber Security for Digital Pakistan project of the Ministry of IT has been suggested for Rs. 1 billion, as per the PSDP document. Additionally, Rs. 8.087 billion has been set aside for the building of the Karachi IT Park and Rs. 175 million for the first phase of the nation’s 25 software technology parks (STPs).
The High Impact Skills Boot Camp project is recommended to receive Rs. 80 million for the PSDP 2024–25, the Hybrid Power Solution (Solarization) for SCO Remote Sites in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) to receive Rs. 221.042 million, and the SCO Remote Sites in Gilgit–Baltistan to receive Rs. 206.097 million.
The documents show that proposals totaling Rs. 100 million have been made for the Ministry of IT’s Project Monitoring and Digital Transformation Cell, Rs. 35 million for the NITB’s One Patient One ID project, and Rs. 10.63 billion for the construction of an IT park in Islamabad.
Additionally, Rs. 150 million for the Virtual University Blended Education for Knowledge Economy, Rs. 200 million for GPO and FTTH services for existing SCO sites, Rs. 169.212 million for GPO and FTTH services for both new and old SCO sites, and Rs. 2 billion for the Prime Minister’s I-Startups Support Program are all proposed allocations from the federal government.
