Islamabad, Feb 6: The Government of Pakistan has declared Saturday, February 8, 2025, as a Day of National Mourning in honor of the passing of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan. The announcement was made through an official notification by the Cabinet Division. The Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan over the demise of the spiritual leader.

As a tribute, the national flag will be flown at half-mast throughout the country on February 8, 2025, aligning with the funeral of His Highness. The notification has been communicated to key government officials, including federal ministers, advisors, the Auditor General, the Chief Election Commissioner, and other relevant authorities.
This gesture underscores the long-standing historical and diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the Aga Khan community. It also acknowledges the significant contributions of the late Prince Karim Aga Khan in the fields of education, healthcare, and social development both in Pakistan and internationally.
