Islamabad, Aug 20: The Ministry of Energy’s Power Division, a draft of standards for the establishment of charging stations around the nation in support of the prime minister’s proposal to promote electric vehicles, including motorbikes, rickshaws, and cars, was completed on Monday.
The Power Division released a statement stating that providing charging stations with inexpensive electricity was also being considered. According to Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, charging stations will be installed in accordance with global standards.
He said that the power division would shortly adopt the plan following stakeholder feedback. According to him, power connections for charging stations would be given out in order of priority. He assured them that the charging stations will have a steady voltage and power supply.
According to the minister, the actions will drastically lower the price of cars that run on gasoline. He continued, “Implementing such measures would usher in a new era in Pakistan.” He announced the establishment of standardized testing facilities for charging battery testing.
