The cabinet Economic Coordination Committee ECC cleared the uniform fuel cost correction to be put into effect in all parts of the country, The News reported and the same would be imposed on its K-Electric customers. In case of harmonized tariffs across the country to guarantee standard electricity tariffs, Nepra will enforce fuel price adjustment that is to be imposed to state-owned power distribution companies (Discos) to be passed on to K-Electric customers in terms of the tariff regulation.
The gap between the monthly-adjusted rates tariff on K-Electric, and the notified rates will be met through subsidy or cross-subsidy. The uniform adjustment of charges on fuel will base on the June 2025 FCA of Discos and will be reflected in August 2025 billing.
The ECC in its meeting presided over by the Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has agreed to reimburse Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) Rs330.526 million through a Technical Supplementary Grant and called upon the resolution of the pending arbitration case.
The committee also agreed to a Fan Replacement Programme set out by the Prime Minister to get a grant of Rs2 billion, allocated Rs250 million to National Security Division as well as Gordon Interim Relief JCB-1 to the tune of Rs5.8 billion to the recent victims of monsoon rains.

Also, the ECC approved Rs3.5 billion to facilitate Raast QR Code payments to merchants, considered the new Energy Policy Vehicle 2025-30, and supported a risk coverage plan scheme to allow underserved farmers.
The committee focused its effort to enhance efficient operation and minimized losses in gas sector. The implementation of the uniform fuel charges adjustment country wide strengthens uniformity of tariff and financial stability in the power sector.
