Islamabad, Feb 4: The Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme has been expanded to offer more opportunities for young people in Pakistan. The latest update, announced by Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, now allows young individuals not only to obtain loans for business ventures but also for purchasing laptops.
As per the new policy, students aged 18 to 30 who are enrolled in Higher Education Commission (HEC)-approved institutions can apply for loans to purchase laptops. This move aims to support students in their academic and professional pursuits by providing them with the tools necessary for modern education and work.
Moreover, the scheme has been extended to support young individuals seeking employment abroad. Those planning to work overseas can apply for loans of up to Rs. 1 million, which can be used for training, visa processing, and travel expenses.
Rana Mashhood emphasized that the government is dedicated to creating maximum opportunities for youth, and over Rs. 186 billion has already been disbursed under the scheme to assist young entrepreneurs and professionals across the country.
