Islamabad, Dec 29: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has unveiled plans for a spectacular fireworks display at the Governor House to ring in the New Year. Scheduled for December 31, the celebration will welcome public participation, with all five gates of the Governor House open to visitors for the evening.
“We want to share the joy of the New Year with everyone,” stated Governor Tessori, emphasizing the spirit of unity and collective celebration. The highlight of the event is a 40-minute fireworks show, with ambitions to break an international record for its scale and duration. To ensure the festivities proceed safely, the Karachi city administration has implemented Section 144 for December 31 and January 1. The restrictions include a ban on carrying weapons, aerial firing, and firecracker use. Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, issued the notification on the recommendation of DIG South Zone Karachi, warning of strict action against violators.
These measures aim to maintain order and prevent accidents during the celebrations, aligning with the administration’s commitment to public safety.
