Islamabad, Oct 31: Govt Abolishes Ministry Posts 6,770 Positions Cut So Far
As part of its right-sizing program, the federal government has eliminated 4,816 jobs from Grade 1 to Grade 22 in a variety of ministries, divisions, and departments, designating 1,954 jobs as “dying.”
A total of 6,770 positions were terminated as a result of this policy,
which was intended to reduce the administrative structure.
On August 27, 2024, the federal cabinet gave its approval to this austerity measure.
Two positions in Grade-22, 22 in Grade-20, and further reductions spanning grades down to Grade-1 are among the eliminated posts.
This comprises 456 gazetted and 4,360 non-gazetted posts.
With 578 in Grade-1 alone, the dying positions span a variety of grades and mostly impact lower and mid-level postings.
All ministries and divisions have been directed by the Establishment Division to carry out the cabinet’s directive.
