The Ministry of Industries and Production has completed the first phase of the e-bikes scheme through balloting.
According to the spokesperson, more than 269,000 applications were received from across the country for e-bike rickshaws, out of which 41,000 applicants were declared successful through the draw.
Officials stated that by 2030, 30% of all new vehicles sold in Pakistan will be electric. Low-income citizens are being provided direct subsidies on electric vehicles.
For motorcycles, banks will provide loans of Rs. 50,000 while users will have to contribute Rs. 80,000 themselves, whereas subsidies on rickshaws will be Rs. 200,000 with buyers required to pay Rs. 400,000.

According to the Ministry of Industries and Production, the first phase of e-balloting was completed through a transparent and secure digital system. By June, the government will provide a subsidy of Rs. 9 billion on e-bikes.
