A Commitment to Public Welfare
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that this initiative is not an act of charity but a fundamental responsibility of the government to uplift disadvantaged communities. She stated, “Every citizen of Punjab deserves to have a home—this is my vision.” She further directed authorities to accelerate the process to ensure timely allocation without bureaucratic delays.
This initiative was initially announced in January during the inauguration of the Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme in Kala Shah Kaku. The chief minister reiterated her commitment to improving the living standards of low-income families by providing them with land to build their own homes.
Expanding Housing Development in Punjab
The Punjab government has set ambitious housing targets. Under the Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme, 100 houses were constructed in just two and a half months. Additionally, thousands more houses are currently being built across the province. The government aims to construct one lakh homes within a year and provide housing to five lakh families over the next five years.
Maryam Nawaz expressed confidence in the public’s trust in her leadership, stating, “The people of Punjab believe in Nawaz Sharif’s vision. Every initiative is implemented with transparency and efficiency, ensuring maximum benefit for the masses.” This initiative marks a significant step toward resolving Punjab’s housing crisis and improving the quality of life for its citizens.
