Federal Minister for Energy Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari announced on Thursday that the government has finalized a revised net metering policy, which is expected to be unveiled within a month, pending approval from the federal cabinet.

While addressing a workshop, the minister said the new framework has been shaped according to the cabinet’s instructions, aiming to support a cleaner shift to renewable energy while also helping to reduce power bills.

He admitted that recent increases in fuel prices had resulted in higher monthly fuel adjustment charges, but said overall electricity rates across the country are moving downward.

Leghari added that a fresh tariff plan is on the cards and will soon be announced by the Prime Minister to help boost industrial growth.
