Islamabad, Nov 18: Govt Hires 12 Consultants at Rs. 2 Million Salary After Dismissing Clerks. The Prime Minister has approved the appointment of more than a dozen consultants (Management Pay Scales and Special Professional Pay Scales) with monthly compensation packages up to Rs. 2 million, amid proposals for austerity measures that include a 60% reduction in clerical staff and the elimination of open positions to reduce the rising costs.
According to the paper, the PM has authorized the hiring of more than a dozen experts, whose monthly compensation packages range from Rs. 305,502 to Rs. 2 million. Under the Ministry of Information and Telecom, Dr. Nayab Babar has been appointed as Project Director/Chief Investment Officer (PPS-12), PM initiatives assistance for IT startups, specialist IT training, and Venture Capital for a minimum of two years at a salary of Rs. 875,000.
The PM has authorized the appointment of Dr. Sohaib ul Hasan as a member of the Private Sector Development and Devolution (Initial of SPPS-1 scale) under the Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives on a two-year contract, Amena Ali Kamil as a member of development communication, and Dr. Awais e Siraj as a member of Implementation and Monitoring.
The PM has also given its approval for Dr. Shazia Ghani and Nizamuddin Arshad to be appointed as Team Lead MP-1 scale on a three-year contract. Arsalan Ahmed and Zahid Hussain Shiekh were also appointed by the PM as senior Associate MP-II Scale, Finance and Economy, with a three-year term.
Additionally, the nomination of Muhammad Ahmed and Yasir Arafat as Senior Associate MP-II scale Energy on a three-year contract has been approved by the premier. Muhammad Dawood’s appointment as senior Associate MP-II special projects and Initiative PM office, with a three-year term, was also approved by the PM.
In addition, the PM authorized the hiring of Shoaib Khan as DG Telecom Wireless MP-11 scale Information Technology and Telecommunication Division, Sikandar e Azam as Digital Communication Officer MP-III Information and Broadcasting division, Rizwan Ahmed as Research Associate MP-III scale Research and Development, and Aisha Tauqir as Research Associate MP-III scale Research and Development under a three-year contract.
The government is providing MP-1 scale employees with over Rs. 0.9 million in wages under the approved policy. This amount includes Rs. 629,230 in basic pay, Rs. 146,450 in dwelling rent, Rs. 28,500 in utilities, and Rs. 95,910 in transport monetization.
The MP-II compensation package consists of Rs. 77,430 monetization transport allowance, Rs. 95,700 house rent, Rs. 11,970 utilities, and Rs. 263,180 basic pay. Additionally, MP-III base pay of Rs. 184,230, housing rent of Rs. 47,850, utilities of Rs. 8,380, and monetization transport allowance of Rs. 65,060 are all included in the wage package.
Similarly, an all-inclusive compensation package of Rs. 2 million for SPPS-1, up to Rs. 1.5 million for SPPS-II, Rs. 1 million for SPPS-III, and Rs. 500,000 per month for SPPS-IV is part of the approved compensation structure for the four distinct classes of SPPS. Similar to this, the Project Pay Scale PPS-1 minimum salary package ranges from Rs. 28,000 to PPS 22 Rs. 875,000, not including raises.
