ISLAMABAD, June 14: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the early finalization of the Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy 2025 in consultation with all stakeholders and its immediate submission to the federal cabinet.

He gave these instructions while chairing a high-level meeting on Saturday to review the policy framework for promoting the electric vehicles industry and its adoption across the country.

During the session, the draft of the Electric Vehicles Policy 2025 was thoroughly examined. The Prime Minister emphasized the urgent need to take swift and priority-based actions for the promotion of electric motorcycles, scooters, three-wheelers, cars, and buses throughout Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz also stressed the importance of establishing essential charging infrastructure, including EV charging stations and battery swapping facilities, to support the broader development of the EV ecosystem.

In addition, he directed that industries involved in electric mobility should be fully supported to increase local manufacturing capacity, particularly for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ahmad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, and other senior government officials.
