ISLAMABAD – June 10, 2025: In a significant boost to public transportation, Provincial Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Bilal Akbar Khan, announced today that Attock will soon receive a fleet of 26 electric buses. This initiative is being implemented under the direct instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The new electric buses are set to enhance the commuting experience significantly, offering modern amenities such as air-conditioning and Wi-Fi connectivity. These features are expected to provide passengers with a more comfortable and convenient journey, all while benefiting from reduced fares.

Minister Khan shared these details during a recent meeting in Attock, which saw the participation of key local officials, including Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza and Secretary RTA Sardar Zaheer Ahmed Khan. During the discussion, he underscored the critical importance of ensuring that all necessary facilities are readily available for passengers at bus stands. He also issued strict directives for immediate action against any transporters found to be involved in overloading vehicles or overcharging passengers.

Following the meeting, Minister Khan conducted a personal inspection of the General Bus Stand to verify fare compliance, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. Passengers present at the bus stand confirmed that the fares being charged were indeed in line with the government’s official guidelines. The minister concluded by commending the diligent efforts of the District Transport Authority in effectively implementing fare regulations and ensuring widespread compliance.
