Islamabad, 15 Apr, 2025: Grace Marks Notification has become the focal point of concern as the Sindh Govt’s habitual delays and lack of urgency threaten the academic stability of over 100,000 students in Karachi alone.
With Intermediate Part I and II exams scheduled for April 28, time is running out and confusion continues to reign.
Despite the countdown to exams entering its final phase, the Karachi Intermediate Board remains headless.
The Sindh Govt removed the acting Chairman over two weeks ago, and although a replacement has been selected, he has yet to assume office.

This leadership vacuum has paralyzed key processes most notably, the publication of the exam timetable and the list of exam centers.
Students Left in the Dark
Approximately 50,000 Intermediate Part II candidates, especially from Pre-Engineering and Pre-Medical groups, remain uncertain about whether they must retake subjects they failed in Part I.
The core of the confusion lies in the Grace Marks Notification, which remains unissued despite public assurances.
In March, the Sindh Assembly, under Education Minister Sardar Shah, proposed awarding up to 20% grace marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Math for Part I students.
This proposal was backed by a report from a fact-finding team led by Dr. Sarosh Lodhi, former Vice-Chancellor of NED University.
A press conference was held, and students were assured the Grace Marks Notification would follow.
Yet, more than 20 days later, the notification is missing, and the Sindh Govt remains silent.
Administrative Chaos Looms
Should the Grace Marks Notification finally be issued, the Karachi Board faces a major logistical challenge.
Adjusting previous results, reprinting mark sheets, and redistributing them to thousands will take several weeks.
This will overlap dangerously with the scheduled Part II exams, for which students have already submitted their forms forms that still include failed subjects from Part I.
The absence of an official Board Chairman has completely stalled final approvals needed to release the schedule and exam venues.
