Islamabad, 14 June 2025: Grade 20 & 21 officers serving under the Lahore High Court will no longer be entitled to official vehicles, following a major policy shift that replaces car provision with a structured monthly allowance scheme.
The decision, backed by the Chief Justice and senior members of the judiciary, was formalized through a notification issued this week.
Under the revised policy, Grade 20 & 21 officers will receive a fixed transport allowance instead of being assigned government vehicles.
As per the official directive, Grade 20 officers are set to receive Rs. 65,960 monthly, while those in Grade 21 will be granted Rs. 77,430 each month.

This new approach aligns with broader administrative reforms aimed at cost-cutting and ensuring transparent use of public resources. It also mirrors the monetization strategy already adopted by several other federal and provincial institutions.
The circular further noted that deliberations are ongoing regarding the allowance for Grade 19 officers, with a final decision expected after additional consultations.
This move signals a shift in public sector benefits management and could serve as a model for other departments seeking to streamline non-salary perks.

The Lahore High Court emphasized that the policy ensures greater fiscal responsibility without compromising the functional autonomy of its senior judiciary.
The new monetization framework for Grade 20 & 21 officials will come into effect immediately, with disbursements to be handled through standard payroll mechanisms.
