Islamabad, Aug 5, 2025: Elon Musk has made a daring claim about his artificial intelligence project — Grok Imagine, the visual content tool from his company xAI. In an update posted on X (previously Twitter), Musk stated, “Grok Imagine is now making videos in 1/2 to 1/4 the time that major competitors take to make a single image!”
This bold statement reflects a major shift in AI tools, especially in the fast-evolving space of video generation, where both timing and output quality matter significantly. Musk’s spotlight on faster performance aligns with his broader mission to establish Grok as a strong competitor to existing industry leaders like Google DeepMind, Anthropic, and OpenAI.
Grok Timeline
The Grok assistant, developed by Musk xAI, made its debut in November 2023, designed as an alternative to conventional digital assistants. Integrated into the X platform, Grok quickly attracted attention for using live data from X and Musk’s emphasis on unrestricted digital speech.
Since then, Grok has seen continuous upgrades:
- Grok 1.0 arrived in late 2023.
- Grok 1.5, launched in March 2024, improved logical thinking and supported longer conversations.
- Grok 1.5V, introduced in April 2024, enabled Grok to interpret and engage with images.
- Grok Imagine, the newest phase, is now focused on crafting both pictures and moving visuals.

Musk remains vocal about pushing Grok as a raw, real-time option in the world of AI tools, different from the more filtered versions offered by competitors. His latest statement about Grok Imagine making videos at record speed may ignite both excitement and skepticism in the tech industry, as companies continue to battle for the top spot in AI-driven media creation.
Although Musk did not provide sample videos or technical comparisons, the announcement is expected to spark major discussion among developers and businesses focused on next-gen digital production.
