Islamabad, Dec 21: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday that the player draft for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be hosted in Gwadar, a port city in Balochistan. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
The decision to hold the draft in Gwadar aims to promote cricket in the region and inspire local youth to pursue the sport professionally.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi emphasized Gwadar’s significance, stating, “With its breathtaking coastline and strategic importance, Gwadar represents Pakistan’s economic future.
Hosting the HBL PSL Player Draft here highlights its cultural and economic value while celebrating cricket’s unifying power.”
He extended an invitation to all franchises and stakeholders, expressing excitement about marking the start of the league’s 10th season in Gwadar.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer remarked that the move reflects PSL’s commitment to expanding its reach across Pakistan and showcasing the country’s beauty globally. He noted, “PSL is more than just a cricket league; it celebrates Pakistan’s passion, diversity, and talent. Hosting the draft in Gwadar aims to inspire young cricketers from Balochistan and beyond.”
