A Pakistani-origin trauma surgeon, Dr. Adil Haider has launched the world’s first AI-powered physician assistant called Hami. Hami is already being used in hospitals in Pakistan, where it can communicate in multiple languages. It also features real-time transcription of patient-doctor conversations, creates clear summaries after each visit, and helps identify possible health issues using smart technology. The system follows international privacy rules to keep patient data safe.

This AI assistant comes at a time when the world is facing a shortage of healthcare workers. The World Health Organization expects a shortfall of 11 million health professionals by 2030. In Pakistan alone, over 87 million people still don’t have access to basic healthcare. Hami aims to support doctors by saving time on paperwork and allowing them to focus more on patients.
