Islamabad, 21 March 2025: Haris Rauf reached a significant career milestone during the third T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park, becoming the 24th Pakistani to claim 200 wickets in international cricket.
He achieved the feat in the penultimate over when he dismissed New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell. Rauf struck again in the same over, finishing with impressive figures of 3/29 in four overs.
His bowling efforts were complemented by Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abbas Afridi, and Abrar Ahmed, who restricted New Zealand to 204 in 19.5 overs.
Mark Chapman was the standout performer for the hosts, smashing 94 off 44 balls with 11 fours and four sixes, but his efforts could not prevent a strong Pakistan response.
Chasing a challenging target, Pakistan’s opening duo of Mohammad Haris and Hasan Nawaz provided a blistering start, adding 74 runs.
Haris played an aggressive knock of 41 off 20 balls before falling just before the end of the powerplay.
After his departure, captain Salman Ali Agha joined Hasan Nawaz, and the pair guided Pakistan to victory with a commanding 133-run partnership.
Hasan was the star of the chase, remaining unbeaten on 105 off just 45 balls, smashing 10 fours and seven sixes. Agha contributed with a solid 31-ball 51, which included six fours and two sixes.
Pakistan secured the win with ease, reaching the target with 24 balls to spare and losing just one wicket. Jacob Duffy was the only New Zealand bowler to claim a wicket.
