Islamabad, Mar 26, 2025: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Haroon Akhtar Khan, held an important meeting today with a delegation from the Lahore Chamber of Commerce.
Industry (LCCI) to discuss key economic strategies, including budget proposals and measures to boost local manufacturing.
A major focus of the discussion was the localization of automobile parts manufacturing. Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasized that the Prime Minister’s vision prioritizes strengthening domestic industries to generate employment and reduce dependency on imports.
By promoting local production, the government aims to create thousands of new jobs and stimulate economic growth.

The meeting also covered technological advancements in manufacturing. Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted that the Ministry of Industries and Production is working on initiatives to assist industrialists in modernizing their technology.
He revealed that a new research and development (R&D) policy is under consideration to encourage innovation and drive industrial expansion.
This policy aims to provide incentives to manufacturers, enhance industrial competitiveness, and foster sustainable growth.
Haroon Akhtar assured the LCCI delegation that the government is committed to improving the efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing sector.
He reiterated that economic progress depends on a strong industrial base, and the government will provide full support to businesses striving for technological advancement.
