Islamabad, Apr 18, 2025: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries and Production, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, met with Mr. Umar Shehzad, President of the Mirpurkhas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to discuss proposals for the upcoming federal budget and regional industrial development.
During the meeting, Mr. Umar Shehzad highlighted the need for stronger support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and requested the establishment of a SMEDA Regional Office in Mirpurkhas.
He emphasized that this would greatly benefit the local business community.
Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan welcomed the suggestion and assured full government cooperation.
He noted that the government is already working to revive sick industrial units nationwide under the Prime Minister’s vision and confirmed that proposals from chambers across Pakistan will be reviewed in detail.
He also announced plans to visit the Mirpurkhas Chamber of Commerce soon to boost collaboration with the local business community.
The meeting demonstrated the government’s commitment to inclusive economic growth and its recognition of the role of regional chambers in shaping Pakistan’s industrial future.
