Islamabad, Apr 20, 2025: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has shared a vital weather update for Islamabad, forecasting partly cloudy skies with a high likelihood of thunderstorms, hailstorms, and rain in surrounding regions.
As per the Met Office’s forecast, the temperature in Islamabad is anticipated to peak at 34°C today.
Rain showers are also expected across upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, with some districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experiencing heavy rainfall and hail, as detailed in the PMD’s report.
On the other hand, hot and dry conditions are predicted for Sindh and Balochistan, with strong winds accompanying the weather.
Temperature readings from major cities this morning are as follows: Islamabad and Quetta recorded 18°C, Lahore and Karachi 27°C, Peshawar 20°C, Gilgit 13°C, Murree 9°C, and Muzaffarabad 16°C.
Regarding the weather in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with a chance of rain, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula.

Jammu, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy skies with similar weather patterns.
Earlier this week, Islamabad and its surrounding areas saw unexpected torrential rains and hailstorms, causing considerable disruptions.
Large hailstones caused significant damage to vehicles, solar panels, and other properties.
Furthermore, heavy rainfall in Landi Kotal, Torkham, and nearby regions led to flash floods, trapping freight vehicles and prompting a temporary closure of the Pak-Afghan highway due to strong winds and water accumulation.
