ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 10: On Saturday, the provincial administration of Baluchistan declared an emergency in four of the province’s rain-affected districts. The monsoon downpour in the region has killed 11 people, including three children.
As to the findings of a study released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), eleven individuals, including three children, lost their lives in rain-related events around the province.
The PDMA report also stated that eight persons were hurt in different rain-related incidents, seven of them were youngsters.
According to the PDMA assessment, 34 dwellings suffered partial damage from the torrential downpour, while 15 buildings sustained total damage.
In addition, the torrential rains also damaged 12 kilometers of roads and 62 acres of agricultural land. In Baluchistan, five bridges were destroyed by flash floods.
According to the disaster management authority data, 82 cattle were also killed by thunderstorms and other rain-related accidents. Four of the province’s rain-affected districts now have an emergency declaration from the government, PDMA reported.
