Islamabad, Oct 28: HEC Launches National Outreach Programme for Faculty and University Management. The National Outreach Program for university faculty and management was launched on Monday by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), HEC.
Through targeted training grants and organized outreach, the program, which is being implemented in 64 public sector universities in Phase I, seeks to improve the administrative management and faculty’s skills for optimal performance and contribution to their institution.
The program is designed to improve the teaching, learning, and research capacities of the young faculty members of public sector institutions that have been created during the last 20 years. For faculty members, including lecturers and assistant professors, it is a four-week training program. The host university would receive 3.5 million rupees for the training.
The goal of the university management capacity building program is to provide administrative staff at public institutions that were founded during the last ten years with the necessary tools.
Through rigorous training, the program will provide higher education institution (HEI) executives with a variety of managerial and leadership skills to effectively address complex issues and challenges related to their job responsibilities. Concentrating on improving their team-building, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making abilities so they can lead and oversee their institutional duties more successfully.
For the duration of this one-week course, the host university will receive Rs 1.5 million. Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, speaking to the vice chancellors of the chosen universities on the National Outreach Program, emphasized the importance of this program in bolstering Pakistan’s higher education system by highlighting the transformative role of capable faculty and management in attaining academic excellence.
According to him, HEC urged academic institutions to make the most of these resources by developing training curricula that will be advantageous to their establishments in the long run.Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed praised the NAHE team’s proactive efforts, pointing out their commitment to creating a curriculum that specifically meets the administration and faculty’s professional development needs at public universities.
Creating and executing professional training programs that improve the abilities, expertise, and leadership potential of HEIs’ academic and administrative personnel is one of NAHE’s primary responsibilities for capacity building and ongoing professional development.
