Islamabad, July 10, 2025: The wait is over as Higher Education Commission (HEC) has finally opened applications for the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor. This program gives Pakistani and AJK students a chance to study for a PhD at top universities in the United States for free.
This plan was made through an agreement between Pakistan and the USA. The goal is to train 10,000 PhD students by 2025 and make Pakistan’s education system stronger by having more trained teachers and researchers.
Scholarship Benefits
Students who get selected will get full tuition fees, a yearly stipend, health insurance, and a return air ticket. Those who study at the world’s top 50 US universities will get full tuition fees covered and an annual stipend of about USD 19,200. For universities ranked 51 to 300, students will get up to USD 12,000 for tuition and the same stipend.

Who Can Apply
To apply, you must:
- Be a Pakistani or AJK national
- Have at least 16 years of education (BS, BSc, B.E)
- Not have a third division in your whole study record
- Be under 40 years old if you are a teacher or government worker, and under 35 years in other cases
- Must not be receiving any other scholarship
- Not already have a PhD degree

Students should apply online through the HEC website. The deadline varies for different programs. Those who want to get benefit from this opportunity must apply as early as possible.
