Islamabad, Aug 14, 2025: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has launched a 100,000 free laptops scheme for talented students across Pakistan, ensuring distribution purely on merit. The announcement came during his speech at the International Youth Day event in Islamabad on Tuesday.
These laptops will be given to students from all provinces, the federal capital, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The prime minister stressed that the process will be completely transparent with no favouritism.
Eligibility Criteria
- Enrolled in a public sector university for PhD, MS/MPhil, Master’s, or Bachelor’s programs.
- Minimum CGPA of 2.80 or 60% marks.
- First-year students to submit HSSC (intermediate) results.
- First-semester MS/PhD students to provide previous degree results.

The scheme also reserves 18% quota for students in Balochistan and 5% for distance learning students.
Students can apply through the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub mobile app or via the PM Youth Programme website.
