The National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, chaired by Hina Rabbani Khar, witnessed strong criticism of the Foreign Office on Tuesday.
Khar rejected the officials’ briefing, calling it inadequate and repetitive.
“If this is the briefing, then it is unnecessary. We have already read all this in newspapers. It is just lengthy English with nothing new,” she remarked.

She also questioned the absence of the Foreign Secretary, saying, “Why did the Foreign Secretary not attend? Parliament meets only once a month. We set the agenda on your request and convened the meeting accordingly, yet the Foreign Secretary did not show up.”
Khar further noted that the committee members left their constituencies to attend, while the top official remained absent. She warned that if the Foreign Secretary continues to skip future meetings, the sessions will be adjourned immediately.
