A public holiday has been officially declared in Gujrat District for Wednesday, 27th August 2025, due to severe monsoon rains and rising concerns over urban flooding.

The decision, made in the public interest, was announced by Deputy Commissioner Nur-Ul-Ain Qureshi on August 26, aiming to safeguard the general public amid extreme weather conditions.
According to the notification, all government offices, as well as public and private educational institutions, will remain closed for the day.
